For this year’s C Division, we’re headed in the P-18 direction, design-wise. A simple 6″ molded propset running on 1/16″ or .07″ rubber is a great combination. There’s no more forgiving power plant to be had, and the smaller sized rubber means you get up to at least 1500 turns for a 1.5 gram loop. This simple all-balsa kit includes HDPE covering, plus black tissue for the 10% bonus (black) and a little “Western Tanager” yellow to color it up a little. The 15″ wingspan fits the diagonal of the box you’ve got to construct. Simple bayonet-type wingmounts make adjustments very easy. Mass comes out between 7.5 and 8.3 grams, depending on wood and covering. The included rubber is .07″as the starting specification, but further testing may suggest dropping to 1/16″ (.063″) instead. We’ll see!
