Description
Why the Vanguard? After the Hawk came out, I realized that the Hawk has six different rib sizes because of those pretty tapers in the wingtips and tail. I thought “flying rectangles” might be a good idea for beginners, and the Vanguard turns out to be a great flyer. Same P-18 thinking, though: Humble, straightforward and great-flying. Just last season I was at a session up in Denver and a fellow there was flying a Vanguard and it was doing beautifully! No fuss, no muss. Nice slow circles in perfect trim. Why can’t I fly them that well?
Anyhow–I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Vanguard. Easy wingmount with 1/16th ply joiners, Sig 5.5″ propset. Includes both tissue and HDPE covering material. The HDPE saves close to a gram, believe it or not.
