Description
“We get to use a Cheat Sheet!” Is there any better feeling? This Cheat Sheet is the flying kind, and it’s for the Sci Oly Middle School rule for School Year 2021-2022. I’m keeping this in the lineup though it no longer meets an rule, because it’s a very reliable flier and a great way to test the waters with a capacitor power system. The Cheat Sheet uses lightweight balsa for all parts, and covering is “poor man’s film”–HDPE plastic. You could cover it with tissue, but that would add around a gram to overall weight. The parts count is pretty small, and the simple dihedral idea makes for an easily built wing. This kit stays away from polymicrofilm and carbon fiber to keep construction simple for new builders. One interesting variable is propeller diameter. Be sure to read the photo-illustrated directions and flying instructions carefully! Please note: The Airframe kit does not include the power system.
A typical order would be for two of these, plus one 5-Farad Capacitor Power System. That would equip a team with two airframes, each with a motor set. The charger would be shared. Another strategy would be to purchase just a single airframe kit plus a power system, and save one motor/capacitor set as a spare.
