Description
Why another P-18? This one is philosophically along the lines of the Vanguard, but it’s easier to build, with only three surfaces to cover. It has a simpler bayonet-type wingmount such as on the Sea Story. It’s covered in HDPE for lightness–though you could use your own tissue if you’re willing to accept a weight penalty. The Vanguard currently suffers from using the Sig 5.5″ prop, which has been experiencing critical molding flaws at the hub for a couple of years. Though the 6″ molded prop in the Bluenose is heavier, it’s oh-so-true and quite well balanced! Running on mere .075″ rubber this model is a great intro P-18, but a well trimmed model will fly on 1/16″ for longer flights. Good for group builds, giveaways and such. I would say this one isn’t quite as strong a competition model as the Sea Story or First Derivative, but I like this one for its simplicity! For B Division Coaches and parents–This is the simplest P-18 in the lineup, and it’s extremely easy to get it into the air safely.
To keep the order list moving, at present I’m permitting a maximum of four kits total per order.
