Description
The 18″ Hawk is a kit of Don Mace’s design from a few decades back. This kit made its debut at the 2015 Nats right here in Colorado Springs as a group build event for students. The mass launch was one for the books! The Hawk uses the Sig 5.5″ propset, and though the original kit flew on 3/32″ rubber, it really flies better on something lighter. These days it comes with .07″, but feel free to experiment. The wing is detachable for easy transporting, and the wingmount slides fore and aft for easy trimming. Included covering is tissue (nothing fancy), but feel free to cover it in HDPE for a nice weight savings.
