Description
Yes–a helicopter! This one’s for either Division B or C Sci Oly events. Spars, ribs and motor stick are all wood, and 3-D printed hub parts take much of the difficulty out of building the rotors by jigging the spars for vertical separation and angle. Covering is HDPE (vegetable bag) material, and everything needed to complete the kit is included, except for CA glue, accelerator, and spray adhesive. Oh–and a pair of needle-nosed pliers to bend over the prop shaft (a genuine Peck z-bend shaft). As always, a photo-illustrated instruction booklet guides students, coaches and parents through all phases of the build and sets you up for a successful first helicopter experience (and boy, is it an experience!). Rubber is stock 1/8″ Tan Super Sport. It comes in around 4.8 to 5 grams, which I say by way of full disclosure. (Other models get down to 4 grams.) On the other hand, I believe it to be a safe bet for first time builders and a very reasonable competitor at the regional level. It fits safely inside a copier paper box. Actually, it would fit inside the cover of a paper box! That’s kind of fun. If you would be so kind, please limit your purchase to four or fewer models so I can stand a chance of keeping up with orders!
