Dirt Cheap Torque Meter
Get the most out of each flight!

This simple torsion-wire torque meter builds quickly and will immediately change how you wind.  Watch the needle as it comes closer to your rubber's breaking strength.  You'll know just when to stop winding.  Most of the time, anyway!  Includes basswood parts, wire, polyethylene tubing, aluminum crimp--plus a C-clamp!  No soldering required--just a little wire origami.  Directions cover construction as well as how to use the DCTM to help you maximize your loop's potential.

See the DCTM in action!

Tan Super Sport Rubber 3/32"
Replacement Rubber for most LCP kits

Fifteen feet.  (Well, actually, I stretch my arms out three times, so it's probably more than that).  Shoot me an email if you have questions.

$3.00

Tan Super Sport .080"

A great alternative to 3/32"

Is your Vanguard or Tess getting to the ceiling a little too quickly?  Try some smaller sized rubber.  Custom cut for Laser-Cut Planes, for many venues this rubber may be what the doctor ordered.  Fifteen feet.

$3.00

Tan Super Sport .070"

Even smaller--great for Vanguards and Hawks built right down to weight.

At the Pikes Peak Ceiling Climb this year P-18 winners were flying even smaller than this, but .070" is a great size to try when you need to tone down the climb and add duration.  This custom cut batch is nominally .070", but I mike it to be slightly larger--maybe .073".

Again, fifteen feet for $3.00

Wood Prop Twist Jig

Coming Soon--Improved Version

I'm pulling the WPTJ for the time being.  I want to incorporate a mathematically purer way to position the mid-span stations. Check for it early summer.

Ikara 6" Molded Propset

The best 6" molded prop out there?

I think so.  This is the prop that comes with the Playboy kit.  At 3.6 grams it's no lightweight, but what you gain is a sweet, well-balanced, true prop with a strong steel wire shaft.  It'll withstand a pretty good amount of abuse, too--wall hits, etc.  The hanger snugly accepts a 1/8" stick--actually it's 3 mm, I believe, but what's a few thousandths among friends?

Awaiting fresh props.  Only available in kits at the moment.

$4.00

Ikara 6" Propset

Small, well balanced, precise

This is the prop that we all first met on the Butterfly and Junior from Ikara.  Now used here in the Meadowlark and Prowler A6.  Typically used with 1/16" or smaller rubber, but in the Meadowlark 3/32" is fun to try.  On lightweight stick models, 1mm rubber is about right.  Hanger is sold separately.

Ikara 24 CM Propset (9.5")

This replaces the no longer available 8 7/8".

Presently Unavailable except in kits.

Ikara 12" Propset

The Gold Standard for sport Pennyplanes

Used in Cents of Time and Split Decision, as well as in Ikara's own Bulldog, this propeller makes one of freeflight's more challenging tasks--propeller building--optional!  At 2.4 grams, you could make a lighter one by hand--but this is fine for sport flying and casual competition.  With care you can decrease the pitch a little, making this propeller even better for high-ceilinged venues.  Prop, bearing, button, hook in one assembly.  Hanger is sold as a separate item.

Presently unavailable also!

Prop Hanger, Rubber Hook

Supporting Cast

Ikara's hanger and hook.  Each has a 2 mm slot, which corresponds to .079 of an inch--that's a little fat for 1/16th, or a little thin for 1/8th or 3/32nd, but still--the hanger is the perfect receiver for all lightweight Ikara props, and the hook works for up to .125" (1/8") rubber. These are the replacement parts for all Laser-Cut Planes using the Ikara lightweight series props.

Hanger and hook -- Presently unavailable singly. Easing these out of the lineup, simply because running short on these (which happens with alarming frequency) puts a damper on kit sales.  Very sorry.  Possible replacements (domestic/local) are in the offing, though.  Stay tuned.
